The Shrine of Fátima welcomes media outlets that wish to work from Cova da Iria. The Communications Office provides professionals with the necessary information and ensures that they enjoy the best conditions to carry out their work. To this end, media professionals must have the appropriate accreditation, which may be temporary, permanent or specific to anniversary pilgrimages and special occasions, and must respect the timing and dynamics of the celebrations, avoiding any disturbance. When approaching pilgrims, their privacy must be respected and they should be approached as far away as possible from the areas of celebration and prayer. The use of flash and spotlights must not interfere with the celebrations in progress or cause any disturbance. The use of drones or other invasive equipment, such as cranes and large sticks, is not permitted. When approached by a security guard, media professionals must comply with the instructions given to them. The Shrine of Fátima is a private space open to the public, and an atmosphere of silence and contemplation is essential. Accreditation for media professionals does not guarantee automatic access to all areas of the Shrine. The following areas are off limits:
