#AndaComMaria challenges young people to go on pilgrimage with the Pilgrim Virgin Image of Our Lady of Fatima on the way to World Youth Day

The initiative will take place from 27 to 31 July over 140 km, in partnership with the Portuguese Scouts Movement

#AndaComMaria is an initiative that challenges young people to go on pilgrimage, for five days, from 27 to 31 July, along a route of 140 km between Fatima and Lisbon.

This journey, organized as a procession, will pass a number of municipalities, giving substance to the motto of this youth meeting: “Mary arose and went with haste”. It is organized in collaboration with the Corpo Nacional de Escutas and always in the presence of the Image n°. 2 of the Pilgrim Virgin of Our Lady of Fatima. The altar of Our Lady will be carried on shoulders during the crossing of these places and by car, in slow motion, at other times.

It will start from the Shrine of Fatima on July 27, and will pass through Minde, Alcanena, Pernes, Santarém, Morgado, Valada, Azambuja, Vila Franca de Xira, arriving in Lisbon on July 31.

The last part of the journey will be by sea, with the statue of Our Lady of Fatima being transported on a ship belonging to the Vila Franca de Xira Town Council, accompanied by fishermen, private individuals, sea scouts and the Portuguese Navy.

Along the way, there will be moments of prayer, silence, song, sharing and celebration – in the typical style of the Scout Movement – where all the young people are very welcome. Each night, there will be a vigil in the presence of the Image n°. 2 of the Pilgrim Virgin of Our Lady of Fatima, open to the whole community.

Registration is mandatory and can be done at https://jmj23.escutismo.pt/anda-com-maria/.
